OOps doubled up!

No TV, no wood stove, don't drink, one "real knee" left doesn't like kneeling much, still working full time, but the younger folks ask when I'm retiring pretty often. Try to hit it as best I can with a trainer twice a week. Could probably do better? yeah, but at this point "occasional aching" is a fond memory.

Welcome to the world of maturity! It ain't for sissies!!!:rolleyes:

I prefer occasional aching over being a weak fatboy that fills my face with a BS diet and over relying on technology and my fellow man. Worse things in life than aching a little from hard living. Hard living also increases the "experience density" of one's life.

Lift weights
Chop wood and use a crosscut saw
Eat meat and fresh produce
Ease off the booz
Shoot big guns regularly
Shoot big elk often
Put the TV remote down, read a book
Work hard, work often
Go to church

I used to do all of that too, but......found that it only turned me into what you've called "one of those weak "fatboys" a whole lot quicker now that my body aged and is now falling apart from all that good living!!!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

.300wm, it wights 9lbs 3oz. with leupold vx5hd 3-15x44, sling and 7 rounds of ammo.
I'am 5'5 1/2' 150 lbs and can shoot about 20 rounds of it without pain at all.
JBM ballistics calculator says it's good to 1800 yards with the 190gr ABLR I'am shooting out of it.

Are you saying it retains enough energy to kill an elk at 1800 yards?

Well, hopefully one day the medical industry will be advanced enough to turn me into the 6 Million Dollar Man when I get really broke down!

Only if you consider enough energy as having enough velocity for advertised bullet expansion. You also need to run it pretty hard and be at some high altitudes.
Just so we're clear, I'm not saying that I would do it.

I don't shoot a 300 wm or the accubond LR, so I wasn't sure...but it seems like 1800 yds might be a stretch.

@ Big Grizz,.. I am, 6 ft tall, weigh 160, am on the Keto Diet of,.. Elk Meat, Chicken, Fish, Salads, Veggies and some, Fruit. I lift weights, Power walk, climb hills with a 47 Pound Pack and Bow or, Gun, can Hunt "in" Country 10-12 Miles a Day ( more IF, i catch a Nap) Go to Church, read my Bible and at,.. 71 y/o, I still, WON'T shoot, a .338 Win Mag as, it's NOT, necessary, to kill an Elk ( sorry, to disagree ). Heck, we do "it" with a Bows and Arrows ! But you ALL, NEED to know WHO, gilletto donates to, they ARE very, Anti-Gun, Bro !!! A very, very, liberal Co. ( the management ). You Guys, might want to switch, to Schick ! I did, 20+ years ago when they first donated, $50,000 to OUR,.. "opposition" ! If you own Guns, you might want to, THINK about, THAT !

Not for elk, it is supersonic to 1800 yards, You know = max effective range.
Velocity is getting down there, but at higher altitudes where I hunt elk (& with a muzzle velocity of 3050) it hits their advertised minimum expansion velocity of 1300 fps.
Now again, not that I would do it.
