I finally got my dream scope, a vortex razor genII 4.5-27x56.
Ffp, illuminated reticle, mil/mil, everything you could want in a long range scope but heavy as a brick.
It's just too heavy for my already heavy rifles. I am going to sell it and replace it with something much lighter. What is a good long range scope with tactical milling turrets and comparable range that is about 2lbs lighter?

I had a swarovski without the turrets. Best glass I ever looked through!
Do the make one in 30mm body? Mine was 1" another thing I didn't like about it.

It has a 30mm tube and the 3.5-18x50 has 116 moa vertical adjustment, a rotation counter so you don't lose count of how many rotations you've twisted, zero stop with a sub zero adjustment, and the best eyebox I've ever looked through, real quick target acquisition. It's the nicest scope I've personally looked through.

Don't own one, but as I have said before. It's because I don't feel like I have the funds. But from every thing I read. All the positive reviews. March scopes look and sound like they would fit the bill. Google them and see what you think. Good luck

I recently picked up a used Leupold VX-5 and mounted it on a Tikka CTR in 260 Rem. I've been extremely happy with it! Glass is better, in my opinion, than a buddy's (older) Swaro Z5. The eye relief is awesome and every time I pick up the rifle and look through the scope, I'm surprised at how good the image is. The picture just seems to "pop". CDS turrets and ZL-2 zero lock are pretty sweet, although I'm still working on load development before committing to the custom dial. Only downside is the scope I have has the Firedot reticle. Not a bad thing necessarily, but I'd prefer one with a Impact 29 reticle to have a "BDC/milling" reticle. Definitley recommend you take a look at these scopes, or the VX-6 line if you can.

I have 2 mark 4 scopes and love them. Leupold is 20 miles from my house so I had them make me a custom turret for 168gr fgmm and I am impressed with how accurate their turrets are.

Im sure there are other great options, but just checked the website and the VX-5 line is listed as 19.2 oz.

I agree, VX-5 or VX-6.

March! I own are have tried Leupold v3, vx5, vx6, Sightron S111, Vortex, Ziess, Nightforce and March. They all have there Pro/Cons. IMO the only one that got it right out of these brands for the hunter is March. The 2.5-25x52 MTR3 March is a dream scope for long range hunting rifle. Great mag range, Great glass, Lightweight compact scope, solid tracking, low profile crisp turrets.I just wish I could afford a few more of them :(

I was recently checking out several new scopes in that price range for a build coming up and have decided the Leupold Mark 5 HD will be the scope I will run with. I thought the glass quality was very good, a ton of travel built into the turrets (120 MOA / 35 MIL elevation), Tremor 3 illuminated reticle and several others as options, weight is 30 oz. while the Razor comes in at 48.5 oz. if I remember correct, good magnification that I'm looking for at 5-25, and all around a similar price point as the Razor albeit a little more. I looked at a bunch Swarovski, Vortex, Schmidt and Bender, Burris, etc., and I feel like the Mark 5 is the best overall product (in my price range FYI) for what qualities I'm looking for; glass, magnification, turret travel, reticle options, and weight. No I have no affiliation with Leupold either in case you're wondering. Just impressed by their product.
