Starting a 300 prc build got a mesa crux ti on the way and a eh1 gonna run proof sendero lite should I go 10 twist or 1 in 9.4

Tightest twist they make. The sammi print calls for an 8.5tw and the 225 eldm and more importantly the 230 sierria will like the tighter twist.

the 1-9.4 twist is all you will ever need. the 225 ELD-M or the 230 Berger will stabilize fine even in 1-10. looks like a hunting gun not a bench gun by your light weight parts so unless you plan on shooting past 1200 yds or using long heavy monos the 300 PRC will be best suited with 225 and under bullet weight. the real heavies really need a bigger case and faster twist but the 300 PRC with 215-225 gr will be best with the 1-9.4

I've got the same parts except I have LP Razor Ti. I went with the 9.4 twist. Still undecided between the 300 prc and the 30 nos though.

I just ran my numbers from testing this set up through the Berger Calculator which everyone seems to swear by:

.300 PRC
26" Bartlein 5R barrel with 9.5 twist
Berger 230 grain Hybrid
SAAMI seating

The calculator calls for being 'stable' (1.59 sg) at zero altitude and 59 degrees F.

When I shot these initially, all the holes in the paper were round, repeatedly. I decided I didn't need these bullets to accomplish what I wanted so I gave the rest away. Now I shoot the 210 VLD for hunting which works just fine and doesn't need any hyper fast twist either.
