Help me choose: 6 or 6.5 Creedmoor

Either Creedmoor will fit the bill for you. If longer barrel life is a necessity to you, 6.5 works. PVA will brake it for you.

6.5 CM- recoil diff should be minimal & miles easier to source if not reloading-

I have both 6 and 6.5 creedmoors. 6CM is definitly easier to stay on target after the shot. A 6.5 with a muzzle brake would work great. since you don't reload you should stick with either the 6 or 6.5 creedmoors as there is a lot of factory amunition availiable. a couple other good calibers that are very good long range with availiable ammo would be .260 remington or .243 with faster twist ( 1-7 to 1-8 )

I love my 6.5 CM and the recoil is not bad at all. But if I had it to do over again, I'd probably go with the 6mm. That said, I am a reloader. I'd stay with the 6.5 unless you decide to start reloading, then go with the 6.

Any brake will reduce the recoil of 6.5 to negligible levels. It isn't bad at all without one, but you can stay on target better with a brake.

Like others have said, if you're not reloading, 6.5 will give you a lot more factory ammo choices. Plus the fact that this round will be around a long time since it has now been adopted by the military.
