Been doing a bit of development on a few different ELDX loads. Using 178 and 212 gr eldx..... all the load data says I'm way over max but brass, action lift primers etc says it's still got room for more and good to go... seems to shoot ok too no chrono yet. 3.425 coal which is .005 off lands and at max mag length... anyone else using superformance in 06s with heavy slugs

This is from both 57 and 58 gr of superformance under 212s

I'm leery of Superformance. I've had really weird stuff happen with it. Huge velocity spreads and bad accuracy. All one lot though...maybe I should try again. Just don't want you to have issues in a different temperature.

Haven't got that far yet.... right now doing 3 shot ladder until I creep on on pressure signs... once I find that point of max pressure I'll start looking for that happy mode. But. It felt great with 58 gr... snappy but no where near the recoil as my normal 4350 loads and crisp sound and very minor muzzle flash which in the 760 game after is a rarity in my personal shooting experience with this rifle so I will do a second ladder of 57-59 gr and see if theres a accuracy point in it that will match the rifle. Happily. At good velocitys.... if it will run 2800+ with heavies I'll be highly impressed.. and others I've read about were right there.... so hope I find what I'm looking for

If the gun will hold 1 moa I'll be happy.... pump action 760 isnt really a great accuracy platform anyway....

If you can get 2800+fps with a 212 gr bullet from an 30-06, I would hope you would be happy. I have never heard of anyone getting close to that.
There is a couple load data I've found that are 2750 -2790 hell I'd be happy with no pressure signs and anything above advertising claimed from a powder mfg

I need a chrono but it felt really good and holds my current 200 gr zero about 1/4" higher than factory loaded elcheepo what I could get at the times 200 gr something who the hell knows what in federal cases

Well no... but the less adjustment it requires the less I have to retrain myself for any use of Kentucky windage in field for me anyway

Remember. This is primarily a medium range to short range heavy hitter that in rare occasions may have to shoot a long distance but its main usages are. Moderately thick pine forest in Oregon and Idaho

So need to know its capability but not plan for it to be needed. Sub 400 is plenty for a slide action packer.... if I have a choice I go to my 6.5 -06 ackley with bipod for beyond 400..
