Third party rifle barrel suppliers ?

Third party party rifle barrel suppliers
Are the barrels they sell of lesser quality than buying directly from the manufacturer? I know that one of the big discount chain stores sells second and thirds on some rifles and that's how they keep the cost down . That was the case 25 years ago.
The option to buy a rifle barrel with no wait seems nice but is there any quality difference than if I order directly and wait 6 to 8 weeks?

Would you mind posting an example? Some aftermarket barrels these days are very good. Or if you bought a quality barrel and had it installed it would be very good.

What I was asking is
If I purchased a Bartlein barrel from
Red Hawk would it be as good of quality as if I purchased it directly from Bartlein ?
Example if I buy a pair of Nike shoes from the outlet mall they are cheaper.
They look the same as the ones at Dillard's but if you look closely you will see imperfections seams don't line up ,color slightly different next to its mate etc , so yes they still wear the same for 10 miles but not 20 . You get what you pay for.
So do I order from Bartlein and wait months or buy from a supplier ?
Are they equal quality ?

They are of equal quality. A custom barrel makers' reputation is at stake, no matter where you buy the new blank.

I've heard mention that someone heard from someone that Brownell's may be selling Shilen's factory seconds. Whether it's true or not, I couldn't tell you. What I can tell you is that I know for a fact that Brownell's stands behind them. My buddy chambered a Shilen barrel that wouldn't shoot. He pulled it off the rifle and Brownell's took it back and sent him another blank, no questions asked.

I don't know the answer for certain but I would think the barrel would be the same quality. The barrel manufacturer likely sells to the gunsmith at a wholesale price.

About the only time a gunsmith or retailer gets a price break from the custom barrel makers is if he buys in quantity. Brux wanted me to buy 10 to get a 10% discount. With Shilen , Hart and Lilja you need to order 5+ for discounts to 'kick in'. And, the 'discounts' are not a lot!.

Yes MNbogboy I agree with you 100% A bad example on my part .

They are top quality barrelthese guys basically order a bunch of barrels charge a little more for them so they make a little you don't have to wait 8 months everyone is happy works out good in my opinion
