Bad morning for ALL involved here.....

A guy I worked with in Bend OR had a buck come through his windshield. He need some cosmetic surgery on his jaw after that. He's lucky to be alive.

Here in Iowa I think any LEO can issue a salvage tag if you want to keep it and the person who hit it has first dibs. Actually in some counties there might be a waiting list for edible roadkill. You'll likely need a permit to keep the head/antlers and/or suitable pics showing that the animal was not taken illegally.

I recall reading years ago that the cost of removing and disposing of roadkill deer in Wisconsin got costly enough that they just dragged them off the road and let the scavengers have at em.

Venison should be on the menu frequently.
If they had to do paperwork on all the dead Ky. deer that's all they could do!
I can show you a bunch along I-275 by the house just rotting.
I could kill 50 a year from my back porch.. they are all over! There is NO LIMIT in
my zone for anterless?

It's that time of year to REVIVE this older thread. Here we go again. Everyone please be vigilant out there. The nice buck that rearranged this vehicle hobbled off on 3 legs before I could get there to put it down....

Just saw one on Facebook where the deer was hit and re-hit by another vehicle and half of the deer went through the windshield of the first car and it was a buck and his antler hit and made a wound in the woman's temple and she had cuts from broken glass also ! What a mess inside that car !

Time to revive his thread……again. This time the poor lady driving the van swerved to avoid hitting a buck, left the roadway and drove head on into a tree instead. She went to the hospital with some apparent minor injuries….and possibly a broken wrist. The buck made it across the road unscathed and continued his search for girlfriends. Folks, I sure don't wanna hear or read about any of you getting hurt. Slow down just a little bit and be ever watchful.
