I heard you can change a spring in the trigger to give it a lighter pull. Anyone know where to get the spring and any info on the change?

The method described in this video works quite well shortening the existing spring. I installed the Timney/Savage trigger bar/spring replacement which is quite good, and can safely adjust the trigger down to 1.5#. Keep in mind that the Timney does not have a trigger shoe safety block so care must be taken to not go lighter then 1.5# and thoroughly test the trigger before use.

I believe what you want is a Savage "Varmint" spring. It will allow adjustment down to around 1.5lbs. The shorter one is the lighter one.

I agree with this but have seen it called savage target spring. My wife's gun currently has one installed.

I did this, I'm right at 1.5#.

There are 3 specs for the accutrigger. The regular one minimum is 3.5 pounds. The varmint version goes down to 1.5 pounds. The only difference is the spring. Northland Shooting Supplies carries the Varmint spring.

The target accutrigger is different from the others. I believe the trigger is red and goes down to ounces.

I posted this and the part number for the Varmint spring awhile back.

I watched half of the video, the savage part is $7. You screw out the old and screw in the new. I have 3 rifles set at 2 lbs.

You are correct, I have a red blade set at 6 or 8 ounces.

This is correct. The difference between the non target triggers is the spring. They have the same sear. The difference between the varmint trigger and target trigger is the sear. They have the same spring.
