Remington manufacturing date?

i acquired an older Remington 700 30/06 earlier this year and it's rather unique. It has a slot in the top of the receiver for a "stripper clip," first one iv ever owned with that feature. I think it's an early model from the 60s since it has a flat safety and a split sear trigger design. I can't decipher the age code on the barrel since it has 4 letters, can anyone help me out? From left to right it reads DRMP Incase the picture isn't clear enough.

Has the stock been changed? It looks like it's a synthetic stock, they didn't have those in the 60's ...the stock looks like the one on my rem 700 ss mountain rifle (Tupperware stock with pressed in checkering)

You could always just call remington with the serial number and ask them the year of manu

Iirc the m40a receivers have the stripper clip slot

If the stock is original, that looks like a 1980's or 90's model ADL or BDL with the cheap plastic stock.

The barrel code is not always the most accurate. Best bet is to call Remington and tell them the S/N. That's how they date them.

I'm fairly certain that the same sock has been replaced but do not know for sure. I'll just give Remington a call to find out the exact date.

Yes it is most defiantly a 700

Just an update. A call to Remington confirmed that it is a rifle from September of 1965.
