6.5 Sherman LA loading

I wish someone would try some 147 eldm with 570 so I have a starting point lol. I Broke down I'm gonna try some if weather is good in November I'll give them a go.

I'm using 65.5 N570 with the 140 VLDs so I figure a good brass forming load and a start will be 57-58 gr. I'll form my brass and do a seating depth test at same time then find my max charge after I get brass formed.

I tried some 147's when I was forming. They shot well but I didn't have any 570 available so I can not speak as to that.

Finally got to try my SMK 142 load at 1000 yard. Averaged just under 10 inch groups with the occasional flyer, would bet the flyers we're me. They are loaded with 56.8 grains of RL23 and running a average of 3130 fps.
Haven't stretched out my 150 SMK loads yet but am going to try them once I get a chance

I watched the 150's shoot through light steal at 1000 yards on a video. I don't know if they will make a good hunting round. I think it was 4AW Mark and Sam after work shooting a 6.506. I was surprised to see the bullets go through steal at 1000yrds.

That is surprising. Sounds like they maybe good for Target but not game.

Has anyone tried any loads with h4831? Seems like it may be ready get in there

Do not know what happened but my RL 23 load just kinda fell off so am looking at other options

I ran some N570 with the Berger 140 CH today. I was only getting 3060fps at 65.5gn and br2s in formed Nosler brass. There were no pressure signs but the velocity seems very low compared to what I read in this thread?!

You bet that seems low with 65.5 gr charge I was getting 3250 but I used Fed 210m. That was max for me in my Benchmark I was also using Norma brass.
I guess you could go till you hit pressure see how it goes.

Thats my plan. My fire forming load is the old 140vld at 3100 with 60gn of rl26.

I ended up getting to 68gns N570 and 3306 fps. This load produced a slightly flattened primer but no other signs of excess pressure. Looks like I have a node in the 66.5-67.5 range at 3200 fps.

That's awesome hope your accuracy is there for you that's a very good speed.

68 gr of N570! Wow. I maxed out at 64 gr with a 140 Berger. 3339 fps out of a 28" Hart.

Yea my max out was 66 and65.5was my accuracy.
