Help choosing a do-all scope

I want capped turrets because I can't stand pulling my rifle out of the case to shoot a coyote running away only to find the turrets have spun in the case! It not an issue when you are laying prone somewhere or sitting in a blind.

Leupold zl2 turret has to have the button depressed to turn. Might be a good solution.

Razor hd lh would work well

649 for 3-15 on Amazon right now but just watch it a couple times a day. It was under 550 last week one day.

:( Sorry to get your hopes up. It appears the sale is over.

Not the first time I've seen them at that price though.

If you are interested in the vortex lh 3-15 believe I have seen them pretty close to the $500 mark on campfire every once in a while. Have had good luck with with the nightforce shv. Another scope that I really like is the huskemaw 3-12 and the one I have has capped turrets. Good luck

Capped turrets are not necessary if you have locking turrets. The Vortex AMG is light enough for hunting but has repeatable tracking, reticle and turrets for competitions. Very much a do all scope unless you need really low power as it only comes in a 6-24

I use vx6 hd 3-18x44 for hunting, if you want a little move magnification with slight increase on the low end, try the 4-24. HD glass is very good and the scope can take a beating.

Good to hear you like the Vx6 HD. I have looked at that model as well. Have you done a tall target test to determine what the click value error is? My understanding is Leupold scopes have dropped off the face of competition due to turrets not tracking accurately, otherwise they are very good scopes for the money if you don't use the turrets. The new Mk5Hd does seem to resolve this issue and early reports have this scope tracking very accurately. I am very curious if the Vx6 also deviates from this history as I really like the magnification range.

I have been considering the vx5hd
I will let you now how mine does this season, so far it has done perfect on my .300wm. I have only gone to 400yd with it so far. It also was second place to a $3,000 swarovski in the 2017 field and stream scope test, and in the test it was the best in harsh weather.

Trijicon accupoint seem to be the best hunting scopes I have used . The Leupold vx r are pretty good all around scopes with the right reticle could cover a lot of uses with a cost effective price tag for what you get.
