940 yard bull 6.5 SAUM

Congrats on a great Hunt and shot! My dad shot his bull last year with my 6.5 SAUM shooting the 140 Berger from 750 yrds with great results. I have loved the performance of the SAUM.

I'm also running a saum built on a t3, what mags are you using that are tight? As I haven't noticed this with either of my wsm mags, have you noticed ejector stamp with even light loads? Btw great shot!

BTW, how long is that barrel? Looks to be at least 26".

I applaud you for posting the details! It shows the reality of things. However long it took to climb to him is how long he suffered with a broken spine. I think its good we hear the good the bad and the ugly. I have heard mixed data on that bullet, definitely interested in hearing more. Let us know if you get anymore kills with it and how it opens! That is awesome! Nice work! Practice and the OCD we have in loading and rifle setup does pay off. Remember up and down shots do hit higher at range. Got to love this!

Yes sir it's a tikka action, 25" 8 twist McGowen barrel, zeiss v4 4-16x44.
It's a really nice lightweight set up, the only downside is the saum case is tight in the mag and occasionally won't feed.
I think the 6.5 prc would be better in a tikka mag.

My velocity was 3050fps, elevation 7000 feet.
I would go for the prc in a heartbeat, should get you close to the saum
