Using drone to scout for animals?

I thought they were considered pretty much the same as a plane. If you fly you can't hunt the same day or have to wait 24 hours unless given permission by game and fish.

morning, what about the extermination of wolves
and other dangerous predators. I agree
with the state by state restrictions. I will
get trounced on this one. justme gbot tum
They might be allowed for "official use" by state game officials and such for certain types of predator control, like getting ride of a problem bear.
In Oregon game officials do head counts of game in a lot of units so they have a good idea of winter survival, etc. Might be useful for that.

Some of these questions are actually questions that I feel are about whether they can be used to protect your own property! And I would use them to that extent ! Looking for trespassers and for locating predators that are perhaps killing livestock or animals causing crop damage ! I would if I had one use them to protect my property !

Illegal in Colorado. From CPW:

It shall be unlawful to use a drone to look for, scout, or detect wildlife as an aid in the hunting or taking of wildlife. 1. For the purposes of this regulation, drone shall be defined as including, without limitation, any contrivance invented, used or designed for navigation of, or flight in the air that is unmanned or guided remotely.

In Oregon they are considered harassment of wildlife, not transportation. So it is a little different.

Makes sense. I'm all for banning of drones for scouting or detection of game. But I'm waiting for the day I can buy one big enough to pack out an elk for me . Ha j/k packing out is part of the hunt and makes the meat much more precious.

Though I don't like them I could see one being used on a person's private property. Otherwise I'd rather keep our wildlands wild.

Lets see.. Rifled Barrels..Smokeless Powder..Self Contained Ammo..Repeaters..
Scopes..Rangefinders..Weather Meters..Ballistic Calculators..Boys the game is changing
faster than ever! When and Where do you draw the line? I think it's all in what YOU are comfortable with. Laws are OK but...These guys down here Road Hunt they all carry cell phones It's like belling the cat How can he catch them when they know where he is at all times..Heck I think they have a Warden app?

Not legal in Michigan: "It is unlawful to hunt or pursue ..drone etc.

Not clear in off season but still have drone rules in state parks.

We can't use them in Arkansas. Anything electronic (Thermal) cannot be used to find game. Hogs are a different story though. Anything blessed by the local warden goes for those varmints, including hunting at night. If you can get him to bless it. All are normally illegal.
