Using drone to scout for animals?

Just watched a drone video in 4k and was amazed at the sharpness of picture and the amount of zoom available. So I got to thinking about using a drone to scout for game. The drone I saw fly was very compact and had a five mile range with a 25 minute flight time. At 300 feet high I could not hear or see it in the air but could see anything on the ground. Next question is it ethical?

Some don't think game cameras are ethical ! Drones are illegal to use that way in some states, from what I have heard ! I have read that they have been used to catch fish, herd deer into stand hunters ! Are they ethical ? Depends on how they are used, but I think there is too much technology being used against wildlife already ! When is enough, enough ??????

I'm with BuckBuster on this. I've always been tempted to use more tech like game cameras because hunting can be so freaking hard sometimes. Ive resisted even though it decreases the odds for me. I've read of water holes in prime units covered by numerous game cameras by outfitters and individuals alike.

It makes me wonder where the line should be — how much chance animals should have for escape? Suppose this is a question each person will need to make for himself / herself (if it's even legal), but I'm not a fan. Hope that doesn't get me kicked out of here, but I think people like us should seek to preserve fair chase principles.

Not ethical at all, people do that and more hunting restrictions will be forthcoming, count on it.

Not legal in Nevada, the state that is the test bed for commercial drones.

I seriously doubt any state would allow them for hunting. If you used them for pre-season scouting you'd better have another story to tell the law if they question you.

I am personally glad to see that they are banned in all of those states ! I think they are banned in PA also, at least on State game lands !

I'm personally against the use of drones for scouting game, and quite glad that most states have outlawed their use.
Perhaps, a preferable use of drones?!?!
