6.5 Grendel to a 6.5x47????

400 yards is a long shot for me on a Rockchuck but that don't stop me from throwing bullets at em. I'm kinda hoping this thing will teach me how to dope for wind an range everything better an make me an all around better shooter

That's all going to depend on how well that particular rifle shoots. Every rifle is different, even if it's the one directly behind it on the assembly line that is identical.

As for range with that rifle and that scope, I have no idea. I know there's guys shooting the AR's with high-end Grendel uppers upwards of 1,000 yards and hitting steel with no issues. There's some guys shooting beyond that. Not sure I'd recommend that, but some are doing it. But I will say this, ballistically, inside of 500 yards, the 6.5 Grendel should be great for deer and coyotes with no issues.

Let's hope this thing shoots! The kid I got it from said he was going to use it for wolves but started having second thoughts.

Slower, closer, and cheaper than dong it fast and long.

It will also tech you patience.

I started prairie dog hunting at about 7 with an old Remington Pump M572 with .22 shorts. HA!
 
I've got 2 Grendels. Love them. One is my hog gun with a thermal, and I built the other one for my boy to use deer hunting. It's good on deer under 500 yards and lethal on hogs. Even though I handload for it, the Hornady 123 SST factory ammo shoot so well in both rifles that I just loaded up on this ammo and pretty much only shoot it since I can't attain the same velocity with my handloads

Seriously though, this is what I would go with...

You will probably need to contact Magpul before purchase, and see if they offer an AR15 magazine well for it, instead of the standard issue that first AR10 mags. Because the 6.5 Grendel mags are for the AR15 platform.

Lol I'm just testing the waters to see what out there. I haven't got a clue an haven't seen much on them yet
