Any powder recommendations with this combo is needed. I'm trying to help someone with a Rem 700 with a 26'' factory barrel. He is now using IMR4831 and I feel there a much better powder but I can't seem to find load data for this combo.

morning, IMR4831, sc and original r very good powder for 30cal. heavy
bullets. how is the accuracy?? what model 700 is this
26" barrel attached. what was this 700 used to hunt?
there r several slow burning powders that can b used
with this bullet. might consider looking at
barnes bullets. justme gbot tum

4350 works well. I'm using 100V in my 18" 760 with serria pro hunters.
With the long barrel 4955, superformance Rl26 would be the powders I'd try. I ran Rl 19 with 165's and Rl22 with 180-200s in my 03's I had both a 2 groove and a 4 groove. Rl17 would be another good choice.
If you have a bunch of powder laying around 4064 shoots well but tends to be slow. 414 shoots well with 180's
With the 26" tube the 195tmk would run really well and it's a killer on deer.

I've not seen his rifle yet. I was shown some pictures of targets he shot with his first trip to the range with it. He had a local shop order the rifle for him with a 26in. heavy barrel. He wanted something to shoot targets and this is what he had his mind set on. I would have done different given all the choices available. The rifle no doubt could use a good trigger. That might be a good place to start rather than changing powders.

Here is the long range 06 in action. His load is Rl 22 with the 220 custom competition nosler

That's nice. I was thinking of RL22 or 23 when I did the original post. Thing is I load for hunting not so much targets. I've had good success with RL powders in 243 & 7STW.

I ran 22 with 180 partitions and game kings 190 barnes round nose and serria matchkings 200 speer hot cor's and 220 round nose. It just plain worked with the heavy bullets. I think Rl26 might work and is alot more stable. Rl19 shoots well but you need to tinker with the load to keep it in the node. It is terribly temp sensitive with the heavy bullets. Not near as bad with 150-165's but there are better options. I've not used Rl23 but I've read it is very bulky which may not allow it to be able to pressure out as well as 22 does.
With the 26" barrel I'd look to something a bit slower than 4350 for 180 and up weights. I'd do a ladder with 26 for sure. If it works it will give you a nice boost to your velocity. Somewhere in that boost you should see a nice high node with really good sd/es. I used it in the 6.5 creed and had single digit es for a slow fire 5 shot string. I'm slowly getting my 270 in tune with this stuff with top end 130 velocity but with 140's and within 50fps with 150 interbonds. It's a shame I can't seem to get them to shoot well. I hope to get some game changers this week along with some bergers. I know they will shoot I just need to find some time and test them

from my older sierra manual imr 4831 ,w-w-case 1/10 twist bbl 26 inch ,Winchester large rifle powder 57.6 is MAX sooooooo start at55.5 a go up 1/2 grain at a time i'd bet 56.6 will be Golden, do not change any components of this load, the bullet is your 175 gn Sierra Match King old style, sierras oal was 3.340. one of my 30/06 wheres a 27.25 inch Hart ss/1/10 twist ,5.5 contur bbl,she dotes on H4350 wit 155's up to 180's. don't sell imr 4831 short, its not the newest or greatest but it set many records in many calibers , good luck keep us posted !
