I have a custom made rifle in 300 RUM with a blue printed Remington action and 30-inch Luther Walther barrel 1/10 twist. This extra length usually generates additional speed of 350fps over a 26".
I finally got my hands on a good supply of Nosler 210gr. Accubond LR's and am wanting info from anyone out there that has developed loads showing superb accuracy with the 210 in their 300RUM.
I have been shooting the 200gr. Accubond with excellent groups of .402 at 200 yds with 90.3 gr. of Retumbo in the 200's but have been having problems duplicating anything closer than 1.31 with the 210's using Retumbo. I have also used Magnum but results are close to what Retumbo is giving me. I would like to continue with these two powders as I have approximately 8 pounds of each.
Any ideas out there? I was advised to try RL-25. I don't know anything about this powder??
Any help would be appreciated.
 
I don't own a 300 RUM but if you search around you will find that H1000 is going to be a top choice. look down this page and you will find a post. Also you might try RL 33 and RL 26 Retumbo is a good powder also and since you have so much you might just try different bullets

I personally would shoot a little bigger bullet like a Berger 215 Hybrid or their 230 Hybrid in the RUM. they are very popular in all the bigger magnum cases.

What speed are you pushing those 210's at? H-1000 has always been most consistent and accurate for me with anything in the 200-215 range. I currently run the 210 berger at 2925 FPS loading 88 gr of H-1000.

Thanks for the info. I've tried the Berger's but I have to back them off .0018 to get accuracy and can't feed them as I can only feed up to 3.77 from my mag and it isn't that smooth. Jams seem too common to use magazine for hunting

I'm getting 3208 fps at 10' from the muzzle using 90.2 gr. Retumbo. I don't have anything else to load with the Magnum or Retumbo unless I can load it in my .338 Win Mag. I don't have pressure issues as long as I stay at or below 90.2 gr. with Retumbo but I have an accuracy issue. The 200 gr. Accubonds are shooting consistently under 1/2" at 200 yds. 210's 1.3" is best I've shot with 87.8 gr. Retumbo but speed drops dramatically.

I would expect that you will loose a little velocity, Retumbo has always produced more speed for me but the accuracy always went to h-1000.
 
I haven't tried the 210's but have worked with the 190's. In my rifle the sweet spot was .020 off the lands. This required an OAL of 3.820" and an extended magazine box for the rifle to be a repeater. 200AB's shoot well at magazine length. Have you played with this part of the load? 190's shoot great @3.820" with 95grs Retumbo in my rifle.
 
I have had such great accuracy with the 200's that I would like to get the higher B.C. the 210LR have for shooting up to 2K yards. My 200's will get to 1800 but the wind drift is almost uncontrollable at that range with a 5-10mph wind. Consistent accuracy is gone at over 1500 yards. I really would like to see Nosler come out with a 230gr LR Accubond which would make it more effective and closer to the 7mm with a 170gr. 210gr is about mid-point for weight in comparison to 6mm, 6.5mm and 7mm loads and B.C.'s To make the 30 cals in line to the other long range rifle calibers it would take at least a 225gr. bullet, preferably a 230gr.
 
I've loaded 210's for several Rums.
Ironically, all of them preferred considerable jump.
OAL from 2.595 to 3.620
90.5 Grains of Retumbo
215 primers
Norma and Nosler brass
They all shot 1/ 2 moa or better at 100yds, 200 to 300 seems to open up a bit but they would stay in or close to the 1/ 2 from 400 out to 800.
I couldn't get good accuracy close to the lands.
