Old timers who read.....

This is going to sound weird...but...coming from me....

About 30 - 35 years ago (mid 80's) there was a funny "story" in one of the hunting rags, I don't remember which magazine, about a guy trying to convince his neighbor to go dear hunting with him. He give a long list of why he should go...with no effect...untill .....he got to "FREE MEAT"!!

Now, if you read the story you will remember the rest. VERY funny stuff!

Anyway, I would LOVE to find a copy of the article, but have no idea how to find it.

Anyone remember???

Sounds like a McManus gag. Not sure which one though. His stuff used to make me laugh until I cried.

Is this the one where they added up all the trouble, expense, and gear that "Free Meat" cost?

Kinda reminds me of weekend ropers who once every few years win one and show up at the bar bragging about the 200.00 they made tonight.

It only cost them a couple of hundred thousand to win that 200.00.
