Tell me about your 7mm-08!

That's a good boy there. He's a wrestler! Good shooter too.

Steve

He used to wrestle. He discovered Robotics last year and is now totally into that. I am good with that. I think there is a better chance of a mechanical engineer being able to support me in my old age than a wrestler :)

Hey Guys,
A friend of mine has a standard Ruger 77 Mk2 in 7mm-08 and was previously using the 120gr accubonds.
After i suggested the Barnes TTSX's in 140gr, he hasnt looked back! they have efficiently taken Fallow & Red deer. I also run the 140gr TTSX's in my 7mm mag.

My 7mm08 is a Jon Beanland build that I bought from a friend on another forum. Just got first blood on it last week with a mule deer and cow elk. Both with factory Nosler 140 grain E-tip ammo leaving the 22.5" muzzle at 2,780 fps.

Here's the rifle at the end of my hunt:

Leaving this Friday for Wyoming have antelope and a cow elk tag in my pocket hopefully I can share a similar pic next week. I'm running 140AB in front of 45.5gr 4350 in my tikka 7-08.

All of the Z's have to shoot consistently with a 7mm-08 I built for them. It's a semi custom rifle that shoots Steve's 131g Hammer with 48 grains of Varget. I let the kids pick the stock they want and make it there's as much as possible. Once they shoot it consistently, harvesting game with clean, ethical kills, i wildcat a cartridge that bears their name. Here is a picture that demonstrates what I'm saying. Here is Zayne with his 375 Zayne and Zaylea with the 7mm-08. These were last years antelope.

7mm-08 has sort of lingered in the shadows for years. It is a fine little cartridge for sure. Thanks for the pics guys. They are great!

My daughter is shooting a Browning X-Bolt and thanks to a recommendation from JE. We have seen great performance from the Nosler 120Gr BT sitting over Vargert.
