Your most accurate rifle....

243 AI with 28" target barrel on a Sako action built by me. 220 Weatherby Rocket with 26" #4 barrel also built by me on a Sako action. Both will average 5/8"-3/4" groups at 300 yards.

For a long range hunting rifle the Mcmillan EOL Outdoorsman custom rifle in 300 EOL Magnum is shooting 10" groups at 1200 yards. For a 7 3/4 pound hunting rifle that is very impressive.

Savage 112 22-250 shoots low 2's any day all day. If I really concentrate and things are good high 1's. Built by Savage.

Rem PSS's 308 and 223. Both shoot in the low 2's. Built by Remington

6br, bartlien 5r, manners t4a, tac-30 w/ stiller bottom metal and aics mags, nf 12-42x56

made by me and my son

It 'll shoot tiny groups.
But, I every so often I hear that 6br's won't feed...

This one feeds great from 5 and 10 shot AICS mags.
It'll put 20 shots in about a 2.5 inch group @ 500 yds
on a fairly windy day with my son shooting just about
as fast as he can cycle the bolt.

my believe it or not is just a plain 7mm remington mag weatherby vanguard shoots about 1 inch at 400yards right ammo great barrel i have shot 162 grain amax and berger vld and even my hunting rounds 160 grain accubonds shoot great out of this rifle i didnt even buy the sub moa version this is the older model that guaranteed 1 1/2 inches at 100 yards havent put any money into it yet want to stretch it out to 700 yards whats considered a good group at that range and does anybody know who works on weatherby vanguard actions

At 100 yds it would be my Anschutz 1727F. Even though its a rimfire, the first 3-shot group (before barrel break in) was one little-bitty hole. Having a 6.5 SST built now that I hope will do the same...

Mine right now is from Alamo Precision Rifles in 6.5 X 284. I have a R. Crouse .300 WM
Coming that I have high hopes for? Here's the Alamo..

A 308 that Accurate Ordnance built. Full writeup here.

https://www.writtenbytylerkee.com/gun-review-accurate-ordnance-rifle/

I've been impressed with the rifle since day one, but the most jarring moment for me was doing a ladder test at 250 yards and I had eight different powder charges stacked up in a group less than 2.5 inches across. So, sub MOA at 250 with a 2 grain spread in charges. Sold me from that point on just saving up for custom rifles.

Interesting to see this thread revived from 2012. In my original post(#3) my Cooper 6.5x284 was listed as my most accurate "hunting" rifle. Six years later, and a few dozen deer, antelope, varmints, and a lot of rock busting out to 1200 yards, it continues to be my most accurate hunter. Approaching 1000 rounds, there is no change in throat measurement, or indication of fire cracking/wear using a bore-scope. Accuracy is unchanged. This rifle has proven to be a trusted companion.
Show: left 2011 group, Right 2018 group, both 200 yards.
