Found 500 rounds of 100gr Amax for my 6.5CM
Accuracy node is to load long.
After my first hunt I pulled my charge handle back and out spills the brass with all the powder.
Bullet lodged into the chamber! Ooooops!!!!

Dislodged the jammed bullet.
Cleaned the rifle.
Crimped the remaining 19 rounds.
Here's the results.

In my experiences, crimping has more effect on the velocity because it contains the bullet a millisecond longer to get a more consistent burn with slower powders in many cases. It can also change the pressure just like seating the bullet against the lands. If you seat the bullet against the lands, crimping is not important or necessary. Its main purpose is to prevent the heavier bullets from moving in the magazine during firing due to recoil.

Velocities are normally so close between the crimped and the non crimped that they can only show up on a good chronograph or at long range. certain load/powder/bullet combinations can benefit from crimping, other combinations may not. At normal distances it will be hard to see any difference. Big over bored cartridges with lighter bullets can also benefit from crimping in many cases.

So at normal distances velocity may be the only change seen.
