Phil Mickelson shoots a custom made 6.5 Creedmoor

And steel was busted at 1200 yards with poor marksmanship. I wished I shot that bad.....
That is what he said in the video...so it must be true. After all, I heard it on the internet.

Funny thing about ballistics, it involves math. The whole sequence on the video from firing to the returning "clang" is just under 4 seconds. But given that the average speed of sound is 1,125 fps, that means the return sound from 1,250 is yards is 3.3 seconds alone.

A 6.5 140 grain ELD @ 2750 fps has a flight time of right at 2 seconds to 1,250 yards. 3.3 seconds + 2 seconds = 5.3 seconds. That math doesn't add up.

Yep, really.

Uhh....what?
Well hell....

Ladies and gentelmen...we are truly in the presence of GREATNESS. Dog Rocket has "marksmanship skills" and you don't. PLUS, he could be the best shooting instructor on the planet as he can break down all of your shooting troubles with one 5 second video. AND....Expect him to win EVERY BR and LRBR match in 2019 ...because again...he has marksman ship skills and we don't....hell we don't need them for BR.

I mean , really, how could he NOT win them all???

Now, back to reality...if you are on a platform that has the scope mounted to high...an EXTREAM example would be an AR platform with the scope mounted on the handle....way, WAY to high. If you weld you cheek to the stock of THAT platform, you will be looking through the iron sights, not the scope. You would NEED to raise your head to find the sight picture. Not optimal, but it's that or go home. Just saying that it is POSSIBLE that the rifle setup was not right for him, and in order to center the reticle...or maybe even to FIND the reticle, he needed to raise his head. JUST A SUGGESTION on my part.

Now, the stock did have a pad on the cheek piece. If wasn't taylored to HIM, then he may well not have had a centered sight picture....or...maybe NO sight picture. We don't know....we only have a 5 second video of ONE shot...a SUCESSFULL shot (if we are to believe the video) by the way.

Now, it may have been a 4 foot by 4 foot steel target....again...we don't know....5 second video!!

You seem to REALLY be on the hate wagon. Don't know why, or what climbed up your ***, but **** it the hell out of your system. You may well have good points, but, when another, different idea popped up, you were having NONE of it and started bashing. At 29 posts, you may want to get try LISTEN a little...and not come off as an *******....at least not yet. There will be plenty of time for that later.

Do you take many shots at 1,250 yards.... with an AR...with the scope mounted on the handle?

How much is this guy paying you to be his press agent?

I used that as and EXTREAM example of how a platform could be set up wrong, NOT what I would shoot at 1200.

Question to you...you are a newbe at a range and someone askes you if you want to take a shot at some steel at 1200...are you going to say "no...the gun is not set up right"?

WOW..you really are an a$$hole!!

Good luck with that!!

Here is a list of assertions I have made in this thread:

1) Lack of good cheek weld is bad shooting technique.
2) Slapping the trigger with associated lack of follow through is bad technique.
3) The "flash to bang" math on that shot doesn't add up to 1,250 yards.

None of that is exactly controversial. Add to that the fact that I haven't called you a single name, or made any assertions whatsoever about YOUR character or competency....Yep, that adds up to some pretty hateful stuff all right.

You started this with your very first antagonizing post in this thread (post #6) and continued your increasingly verbose and vitriolic output with every response.

Maybe because I don't often post on this site you thought me any easy target, or maybe a young, inexperienced millenial noob overstepping his bounds??

Phil Mickelson can't be part of it, he's lying it takes 5 seconds for that shot! It's all mine!! No one can be in the club!!
