I was out yesterday helping a friend pull data together for his 6.5 CM in a Ruger Precision Rifle. Using the 143 ELD-X and 42.1 gr H4350. Labradar gave me a velocity of 2650 with SD about 10. Applied Ballistics gave me a come up of 13.5 moa with a 100 yd zero. We then set up a target at 600 yards and shot a 5 shot group with this come up. Group was at 1 moa but 20 inches high. I had to adjust the velocity all the way up to 2994 to get the correct solution. I have never had such a large adjustment before (I usually only need an adjustment of 50fps or less when doing this). Can you see any reason for this result? My own 6.5 CM with a 24" Barlein #4 comes in at a validated 2800 fps.

old post but you entered the wrong G7 bc hornadys 143 eld x G7 is a verified .315 bc NOT 303
Lol, every lot of 143s I've shot have been different and I've verified them to 1200yards, .303 was spot on for that lot, current lot is .312, I did have a lot that shot .315, but once u shoot enough long range you will realize bc is not set in stone but variable upon bullets and barrels, but Hornady is the worst for inconsistent bullets

Try using, an average of, .312 / .313,.. G-7, BC as, the Latest BC's, I've seen, too !
Buy, SAME Lot #'s ( 300-500 ) of the, SAME, Bullets, to minimize, the "variables".
Worth, the "Squeeze", cause they,.. Kill,. "Well" !

Hornady verifies g7 for the 143 eldx @800 yrds you knew that right ?and I've been shooting LONG RANGE (1200-2500 YRDS ) for better then 40 yrs
The .315 has been spot on for me every time and I've shot hundreds of them
They also verify their bc with Doppler
But everyone has to hate something I guess with most it's Hornady

Sadly, there was, a Period in Time, when I was not, "Happy' with, Hornady's, "stuff", either !
But, they have come, a Long way, SINCE !
The Designs / Quality/ Accuracy of, the ELD-X's, are,.. "impressive" and the BEST "New Hunting, Bullet", Design, in a while,.. IMO !
The ELD-M's are Sweet, too and just as, Important,.. AVAILABLE !
I shoot, a LOT of the Hornady .22 cal., 50-55's in my .22-250 Rem and the New AMP, Designs, are deadly, "Accurate" and CHEAP !
Hopefully, Hornady keeps up, the good, Work in our, currently,.. Bullet "starved", World ! !
