28 Nosler recoil

I agree with WeiserBucks 100%. I was a bit worried as I am a recoil coward. But with an APA brake and a 10 pound rifle my 140 pound sister blasted her first deer without a single issue. I could shoot the gun with or without the brake, no big deal. Buy one you'll love it.

Tidus56, If your sister sees this you are in deep trouble.

I have a brake on a 300 wm that I shoot LR. I have no brake on a 270wby that I hunt with. I don't know the difference because one is off a sandbag and one is at game.
I have a brake on a 6mm Creedmoor that I just got from my gunsmith. To see my bullet strikes.

In similar rifles and bullet weights, how does the recoil of the 28 Nosler compare to the 7 Rem Mag?
I think all nosler calibers are way overrated for price you can go buy savage 110 in 7mm mag or 300 win mag kill anything 28 nosler will and not spend more than 1000 with scope and ammo 7mm mag and 300 mag been around for ever

My story exactly
Plus 1 here. My 270 kicks more than my 8 lb 28 Nosler with an APA brake but you definitely need hearing Protection even when hunting. I bought Ghost stryke digital in ear Protection which suck by the way. I do not recommend them.

And a 30-06 will kill anything that a 7mm or 300 mag will. Thank God we didn't stop at the 300 win mag and the savage 110. Life would be boring. Their are real world advantages when comparing the 28 Nosler to the 7mm RM. Especially when shooting the heavies. The 300 win and the 30 Nosler may be a better match ballisticlly speaking, but I would still take the 30 Nosler because I like the case design much better.

I had a 28 Nosler built on a Rem 700 action, #3 Benchmark Fluted, Wildcat stock, VX6 HD 3-18x44 scope, and it had enough recoil the scope was brushing my head with every shot.

I had a brake added and wow what a difference, it a dream to shoot now, extremely accurate.

I just built a 28 with a pad and a brake. I also have a 30-06 with a pad and no brake. I haven't shot them back-to-back much to test the difference in recoil, but 28 recoil doesn't bother me at all.
