I'm having a rifle built in 22 Creedmoor on a Remington action with a 26" 1:7.5 twist barrel. Looking to shoot Sierra 80-90 grain and/or Hornady 80-88 grain bullets. Thinking about using Hodgdon H4350 or RL26. Does anyone have any recommendations or advice?

Reloder 26 will give best velocity numbers. If you want to explore other powders I have tried in no particular order... N160/n560/MR4000/H4350/H4831/Retumbo/Reloder23/Reloder16/Superformance and probably a couple I have forgotten and settled on Reloder 26 because only one reason to build a 22 Creedmoor with a 26 inch barrel....Speed.

I'm using h4831 in my 22-243 with 75g amax going about 3500. H4350, h4831sc, imr4451 Rl16, rl17, rl22, rl23, rl26 would all be good lots of powders to choose from.

With a twist rate of 7.5, I pretty sure the 95 smk will not stabilize. All the twist rate calculator I have used say it will not. Even the 90 smk is on the low side of being stable with a rating of 1.51. I believe with the 90 smk I should be able to reach speeds of 3300 +/- with the 26" barrel. Rifle should be ready in a few more weeks.

Rl23 works really well with 85.5 and 95s mine is a 1&7 twist 26" bartlin it blows up both bullets if I run them much over 3225.

With RL23 being your favorite powder... what would be your 2nd favorite powder for those heavier weight bullets?

If you can, you might have 2 barrels finished at the same time.
And run with the coolest powder that will fill the case at SAAMI max pressure.
It won't set any records for accurate barrel life, and it's good piece of mind to have a barrel in the waiting.

As well, if you can, have enough brass/primers/bullets on-hand for at least one barrel.
Stuff is hard to find, it's always a good investment to get it if you can.
