My Super Bad Experience with GUNWERKS So Far

I wonder what the ppl who live at ur old address thought when they received a gun bolt in the mail?

At least that proves Gunwerks was trying to correct the situation even before the OP knew it was an issue. They were one step ahead. Too bad it took so long for anyone to contact them once the issue was found.

So what did you have Beanland build you on a SA magnum action to go to Africa?

I'm looking forward to the stories of 700y kills in SA. Is there a link to the thread?

Steve
Steve 700yards? In a SA yes a 6.5saum will do that with a 140hybrid easy. Maybe not a hammer but yes with a copper jacketed bullet

Not sure what that means??? Seems you have jumped to many conclusions. If you are implying that Hammer Bullets are not able to take game at 700y, you are sadly mistaking.

700y hunting is SA is pretty rare. Not many safaris are willing to let hunters shoot that far. My point of the post was to point out how odd this whole thread is. I agree with most here that cancelling a huge planned trip to SA over a rifle issue is not very realistic. The story gets even more unrealistic with the notion that his partner in the trip took a bunch of animals at 700y type ranges. Couple that with a stock issue earlier this year causing another cancellation of a fantastic trip, it all becomes very unrealistic. Either the OP has terrible luck and shows weird judgement in cancelling trips and losing money in the process because of a problem with a vendor.

Taking a poke at my product was uncalled for. If you would like to start a thread about poor performance of our product, I am all for that. Be sure you have your ducks in a row.

I believe he confused SA (South Africa) for short action. That's what I gathered

SA yes South Africa. Robert is on his way back as we speak. Talked with him yesterday while he is at the Johannesburg IAP. He will be posting his adventure with game harvested and at what ranges exactly I'm sure. After actually talking with Robert yesterday. He said the shortest was around 100 yards at a running Bush cat. But I will let him tell the story and at what ranges when he gets back. He said he gets back to the Boise area late Thursday. He goes by BigBuck74. He offered the hunt to all of us on 4/19/18. That's when I PM him that I would go with him. That is when I needed to start selling some stuff to make sure I had enough money to go and not take away from the family. As in take from Peter to pay Pall sort of thing.

Interesting. I lack any desire to pile on either side of the dispute/matter.
Defective custom actions should, of course, be replaced by a manufacturer. The timeline for corrective action - only God knows. **** happens. Another of life's certainties, as with death and taxes.

I bought one of the GRB actions 1st part of the year. Received it through my ffl. The action looked great. Bought the rest of the components for a full custom build and sent it off to John Beanland. He built the rifle and received it April. Sold all my other rifles to go to Africa with my buddy Robert. Started to season the barrel in late May to June. After I fired a round, it would not eject out off the port area. It would just bounce off the scope and lane backwards in the port area. So I could not rack another round in. I had to dig the empty brass out of the area. I thought the brass just needed resized. So I countinued to season the barrel and fire form the brass. So I had 50 pieces of brass. I neck sized them and the same problem. I call Gunwerks in early July. After talking with the public relations manager Travis. He stated my bolt was manufactured incorrectly and that they had been aware of it for a few months. He stated I was supposed to have been contacted and a new bolt sent to me. I was never notified at all nor did I receive a bolt. Travis supposed to have sent another bolt to me the 1st of the month. But according to him it went to a address I live 4 years ago in another city. According to Travis. He stated he does not have the authority to fix this problem. Only the higher management does. At this time I have a fully built custom rifle that does not work propperly because of the GRB action. I also did not go on the African hunt because of no rifle. I had a South African weapon permit pulled for this rifle and no others. I would be in South Africa now. I am going on week 6 of getting the runaround with gunwerks. I have lost $1700 cash and a African hunt of a lifetime. I also lost a Deprevation hunt that I traded a generator for. What should I do???

Looks like you effort has paid off....
And as far as I can see.....Aaron Davidson is stepping up to the plate and showing he is behind his product....congratulations to both parties here...

Now if other companies would follow suit.....any company..not just guns...

I think it's really SAD that it took all this to get them to make it right!
As soon as they saw a problem They should have stopped selling them and issued a
recall on the ones that got out! I'll not even consider buying their crap!
H&H anyone? They have classes too!

Read the posts...Gunwerks DID send a new bolt as soon as they were aware of the issue.
