.25 cal 131g .330G7 bullet from Blackjack Bullets for you to drool on ...

From a sales perspective the Match community used to be small but is now EXPLODING - weekly local matches, monthly state matches, more national matches than anyone could hope to attend. Most of the Match shooters use Bushing Dies which can easily turn 6.5x47 Lapua and 6/6.5 Creedmoor brass into an immediate 257 variant. These guys shoot thousands and thousands of rounds a year and since getting 25 Caliber bullets to market is a challenge we started with the high volume shooters so a smaller population of guys would help us be a viable business. (50 guys and barrels x 3000 bullets per year = 150,000 bullets as compared to the 750 guys and their barrels it would take shooting ~200 rounds per year)

On the flip-side there are millions of hunters and long range hunters but often they do not shoot 5000 rounds a year and many only shoot 20-100-500 rounds per year out of 25-06, 257 WBY, 25 WSM, 25 Gibbs, etc.

Of course in reality we are providing a great bullet for both markets. But we made sure the 131 fit Match Rifles and 2.880" magazines as a primary design parameter - the mass and length of that design work well in long actions as well. Similarly the Long Range Hunting bullet we will be releasing will outperform all of the Target 6mm's, and most of the 6.5's. : )

Soon enough Blackjack spec 25-06, 25-06 AI, and 257 WBY reamers will be on the board for order at Manson and JGS and we will have a few to rent out.
Unfortunately, my .25-06 AI 40º still has a nearly brand new barrel with less than 500 round through it... And I just started a new job, so no real money for toys yet...Or I would have my name on one of the 7.25" twist Sendero Bartlein barrels on your website.

Also, if you don't mind me asking, what will be the cost per 100/500/1000 for the 131 ACE? Comparable to Nosler RDF, or closer to Berger prices?

I'd love to get my hands on one of those bullets to do a mockup "dummy round" for my .25-06 AI to post up on here and other forums to advertise for yall.

We have taken market averages over the 2.5 years of design and development and running the current market numbers even including Hornady's firesale prices on the bullets match shooters use, our bullet would shake out at $0.377 per - and that's taking into account all bullets of varying quality, design, and ballistic performance. the 131 ACE gets flying colors in all those categories but we won't be charging the top-shelf pricing that can give a guy sticker-shock.

We want to offer them as cheap as possible to where our business is viable and healthy to expand our product line and will do everything we can to get them down to a lower target we have set that is WAY more than fair in terms of cents per bullet grain and cents per unit of performance and quality.

We will offer tiered pricing for 500 ct, 1000 ct, and 2000 ct which will help guys save money whether they pool up their money between 2-3 friends or buy enough bullets to last a barrel. When we get the more affordable barrel blanks in stock we will offer bullet & barrel packages to help get the costs as low as we can for the budget-minded.

To answer your question very directly - the 131's price will fall somewhere between the cheaper match bullets and Berger pricing, which given the quality and performance is quite fair.

Guys, if you have any questions feel free to message me here or at [email protected] . I'll be really busy in the weeks leading up to full-launch and next week with taking pre-orders on the barrel blanks but I will get back to you ASAP.

Thanks man! And if you need anything from me, holler at me, we'll talk more about case dimensions and stuff, and get something figured out. Maybe even a whole new wildcat for yall and the 131's...

We have a design drawn up in two variations depending on exact parent case (have to save a lot of $$$ to launch the product) but a well known wildcatter has ordered a reamer and worked 300 Norma brass down to a stout mini-magnum.

He dubbed it 257 BLACKJACK (shoulders will fire out sharp) after our company and bullet he designed it for but we had also discussed calling it 257 Pit Boss to keep the theme but leave 257 Blackjack for the design we have in mind for Match Rifles and Long Range Hunting. It should launch the 131 3150 FPS in a short action and be extremely efficient doing so. His design, this shortened 25-300 Norma Magnum, I have no idea how fast it will go.

Geeze... I bet that's a nasty SOB in a 700 short action...

I might have to build one of those just for whitetail hunting. But I'm not going through that much crap to make brass for it. So, if some company were to make some brass for it, I might have to get one. :D

Somehow I knew you did not need any help in the design department, as that is inherent to the business you're in. Cheers!

I think so. You have made several rants about the fact that manufacturers are making high bc bullets for 10" twist 30's but no love for 10" twist 25's. Not going to take the time to look up your posts, but yes you did.

Steve
I was referencing YOUR post and THIS thread...Not anything from the past. And yes, I still think there could be SOME improvements for bullets in the 10" twist. May not be much, but at the time, nobody was really trying either.

Here's some velocity window testing showing both the 25x47 Lapua running to 2950 fps with no pressure and 25 Creedmoor which began to run hot above 3000 fps.
