Creed, I just had my hands on one, it was all I could do to put it down. Really nice quality, and workmanship. Like like!

I've been wanting the HC long range since I found out the 7mm mag has a 8 twist. But I need to upgrade the glass on a couple of my rifles/rimfires before I get another.

I bought a 26" tubed .280 Rem SHOT Show X-Bolt. First (hot) handloads tried, it shot .600... multiple times.
Liked it so much, I bought another. Same handloads... same group size. I have about 450 rounds down between the 2 of them and am no less than impressed each time I pull the trigger. These are regular sporter barreled $499.00 on sale) X-Bolts with 26" barrels.

I bought a Hell Canyon in 300 Win Mag. The rifle is very nice but they have a fifty cent magazine. Mine would not feed. I hunt where there are a lot of grizzly bears. Really need the rifle to function. Sold mine & went to the Remington Wilderness Rifle in 300 RUM! All good now.
If Browning ever gets a better mag for the Hell Canyon I will buy another.

Where are the Browning rifles being made?

I was a little bummed several years back when I bought a Browning pump action shot gun and realized it was made in Japan.

I will take a Japanese made gun over most American made. They make a good gun... rifle or shotgun.

Catahoula: Did you try a different magazine? I have had four X-bolts and not a single malfunction.

The best mass produced guns, are for the most part, not made in America. The idea that "made in Japan" is synonymous with poor quality is very much a post WW2 sentiment. You buy a gun from northern Europe or Japan, chances are it's a keeper.

I really have been wanting to pull the trigger and pick up a HC speed in my 7mm rem mag but the M13x1.25 muzzle threads keep talking me out of it. Might keep pushing up for a Christensen Ridgeline.

Take a look at the HC Long Range 7mm. It has standard threading. It's a little heavier at: 7lbs 8 ounces. Speed in 7mm is: 6lbs 13 ounces.

Make sure to find a 2018 model:

IMPORTANT TWIST RATE NOTE: In 2018 faster twist rates were added to select calibers and the twist rate is indicated on the barrel next to the caliber. The 6.5 Creedmoor and 26 Nosler became 1-7". The 300 Win Mag, 7mm Rem Mag and 28 Nosler became 1-8". Prior to 2018 the 6.5 Creedmoor and 26 Nosler were 1-8"; the 28 Nosler was 1-9"; the 7mm Rem Mag was 1-9.5" and the 300 Win Mag was 1-10".

I have the HC Long Range McMillan in 6mm Creedmoor. Finally got the scope mounted on it and took it out a couple weekends ago. After about a box of plinking with Hornady Precision Match ammo I shot a 3-shot group with the last three shells and the results are below. With the shoot and see target it looks like the group is a little bigger but when I pulled the target off and looked at the paper behind it you could pretty much cover the three shots with a dime. That was at 200 yards. I'm pretty happy with the way it shoots right out of the gate.

Thanks for the heads-up. If it doesn't function every time, all the time, day in and day out, as Mike Meyers would say, "it's CRAP".
