Went out today and shot p-dogs. Suppressed it builds up carbon on the crown.
Went thru about 90 rounds in the few hours we were there.
Came home to clean things up and soaked the crown in a mix of hydrogen peroxide and vinegar, 50-50, for about five minutes. Took it out and hit it with a sonic tooth brush and it shined up great.
Be careful of the mixture, and disposal. But t works.

Even better is CLR. Just take some and put it on a patch and let it soak on there for a bit. wipe it until clean. You'll be surprised at how fast it comes off. way better. Then clean off with alcohol and a dab of oil for rust. Works great for cleaning suppressors too. Just fill up a suppressor with CLR, let sit for an hour and clean out. rinse baffles with warm soapy water and put back together.

Pb blaster doesn't hold a candle to CLR. Give it a try you'll be surprised.

That's interesting as none of their products would lead you to believe they will work on carbon. I don't know about any of those, but many kitchen type cleaners will attach aluminum.

I did an aac ti-rant 9m. They have aluminum baffles and I had no problem with it eating them. I also didn't leave it sit in solution for days. The can probably had 200+ rounds on it when I cleaned it. I did rinse all the parts with soap and water after id cleaned them. I also use clr to clean my barrels, great on removing that carbon ring buildup. Dont poo poo it tell you try it. It's cheap and does an awesome Job.

From the SDS:

INCOMPATIBLE MATERIALS: Strong oxidizing agents, metals (except stainless steel and chrome), bleach, acids, and bases.

I'm not going to argue about it, just try it. If you dont try anything new you'll never know what you're missing out on.
