Hey guys and gals. Looking for a new scope for the wife's rifle. She shoots a Tikka 30.06 with a Trijicon 2x10x56 mm. Loves the scope and the illuminated cross hair center. The problem is it doe not have exsposed turrets which makes it hard to adjust in the field. She doesn't really shoot past about 4-500 yards. Want something in about the same magnification with exposed turrets. Any thoughts?

Most of my scopes are all protected either with turret cap or scope cover until I get to my hunting spot. Just a minor adjustment to make, but that's just me.

If you must have it with exposed turret, are you looking for SFP or FFP, illuminated of not, and what is your budget? The more information you can provide the better recommendations it yields.

For the distance she shoots probably FFP yes illuminated budget what ever is best.

My father in law once told that buying his daughters whatever they wanted worked well for him. I followed his lead and it has worked well for over 30 years. Have your wife shop for her own scope and buy the one she likes.

That's actually an excellent idea (and great life advice to live by) if your local gun stores have a good selection to choose from. Cheers!

4-500 yards is a good candidate for FFP and a mil or Moa reticle. I wouldn't worry about twisting turrets for a hunting rig at that range. But if you must have them, a F1 SHV would be a good choice.

I'm a Night Force user so here are my NF suggestions
4-16x42 ATACR, my favorite hunting scope
4-16x50 ATACR
NXS 3.5-15x42, my wife runs two of these on a 6.5 creed hunting rifle and a 6.5 creed gas gun she hunts pigs with. Really nice, rugged all around sfp scope.
4-14x50 SHV, my daughter run's one of these on her 6 creed. NXS glass. Nice little scope that's priced at about $1250
