Muzzle brake

If the slabbed brake was any wider than the round brake it would have more surface area and aid in effectiveness but just slabbing a round brake would just be for looks. but could aide by not being in the scope view.

IMO the primary benefit of a slab brake is that they (generally) have no ports on the bottom which blow dust and dirt up everywhere when shooting prone.

The primary disadvantage is that they have to be timed. My slab brakes get out of time and I only hand tighten them. Re-timing a brake can be costly and there is no guarantee that it wont go out a degree or two again.

A slabbed brake has more surface area and will reduce slightly more recoil then a round brake of similar height. A round brake the same diameter as the slabbed brakes width will reduce just as much recoil as the slabbed brake if the port height is the same and slightly more if the round brake has a taller port.

Thank you sir!

Ahhh.. The simplicity of physics.

Thank you sir!
By the way, IdahoCTD makes the Muzzle brakes and more brakes, I have a 3 port Lil Beast on my .260 AI. I love it
