7mm STW Brotherhood - For those who shoot the 7mm Shooting Times Westerner

So, use the WLR for all my load development going forward???
As my good brother said, we never had to go that route, with the STW. My best primer was the 215gm. By far the best, and most consistent.
When you shoot through a chronograph, and your sd, and , rd are al over the place, OR, you get occasional fliers, going to a less violent sparkplug, usually will calm it down.
I Ihad a insanely accurate 700 police, in seven mag, that would shoot .3, groups at 100, .4 at 200, all day, any day. That load was with the WLR, primer. Formerly, I used the 215, and 215gm. Same results, EXCEPT, once in awhile, I would get those annoying fliers, not like off the paper, but out of grouping, that I was sure wasn't me. So I gave it a try, and never looked back.
I have a signed target, at .189, @ 200 yards.
My Sako STW,,did that once in awhile also, the WLR fixed that problem.
Worked well in a 300 win mag if I recall. That gun, we were about to give up on, and it settled down, and still shoots great to this day, even when very cold.
Lots of tricks up our sleeves!
The 7STW dog will hunt!

Well I'm sorry to say chaps that I've had to skip 100 pages and make a comment. What a great thread this is!

I've recently picked up a Sako 75 in 7STW and a Google search found this forum. I had told myself that I would read all 300 pages before I put a post up but I didn't manage it - too much info to take in in one hit. It looks like I've found the primers I need to use - I already have RL22 and 160gr Nosler Accubonds. Range day is next week so if I manage to get a scope on it in time I'll let you know how it goes.

Welcome aboard there my friend, I too read back over this massive thread, you can't read it all in a week. Can't believe how many things have been talked about, the people, and the awesome rifles that have been shown and talked about, all based around one cartridge.
You have a shooter there, I know cause I had one, and it shot lites out. It was a little fussy, but when I found its load, game over.
Loved the action.
Welcome
