410 for turkey?

I doubt it's not legal here in Texas. The 22 caliber rule for deer went away years ago. I can't recall if the rim fire rule still exists or not.

Any way my dad missed one at just less than 15yds yesterday and we had one at 5 steps 20 minutes later at a different set up, but came in silent and was on us before we were comfortable.

Getting the close shot is what you will have to do and I would think you'd have a dead turkey with a head shot at 20 yards or less.

I have a lot of my friends who are hunting turkeys with
sub gauges especially the 20 gauge. All of them are
using the Hevishot Magnum Blends

This is my second turkey I got with a single shot 410 using #6 shot. I stalked her amongst the trees for a head shot.
After skinning and cleaning we got not quite 5.5 pounds!

Agreed, the .410 will be highly effective. Try the Hevishot
Hevi-X Strut in 3" #6's in your .410. They hit hard
and pattern flawlessly

TSS #9 in my wife's .410 has been good to 45 yards so far. We're testing it out to see how far it groups well with enough energy to kill a turkey
