I bought a couple of boxes of Hevi-metal shotgun shells from Dicks/Field & Stream. Decided against using them. At $28 a box, I'd like to return or exchange them. Does anyone know if it's permitted?

No chain I've ever been to and extremely few mom & pop shops will accept an ammunition return. I'd just put them into your TEOTWAWKI bucket.

Doutbful....Dicks being Dicks and all....
Like BLG said..unless you know the mom & pops place really well..
Maybe do a trade with someone...hevishot being nontoxic some guys might want to cut the open an use the shot in say a 28 gauge...

What the he'll is a TEOTWAWKI bucket.......o_O

TEOTWAWKI = the end of the world as we know it. the bucket I refer to is the one containing all the ammo one-off's and rounds we don't even have guns to shoot but for some reason still have laying around.

Sure as can be...I have that bucket too....more of a tote these days....
I also have keep most of the bad brass from bigger rifles and most everything we pickup after we shoot .22s.....it is collecting a bit of dust also....
On that aspect...been wondering why some haven't started a recycling of brass for veterans.....betcha there would be plenty of donations....

That is a brilliant idea. Find an ammunition remanufacturing outfit (Miwall comes to mind) and see if they might be interested. Do a solid for the environment, for veterans and for all shooters.

I'd chip in a 5 gallon bucket or two.

Well..maybe there is a brilliant minded person on this site that can word everyhing needed and get it set up.....gladly ship everything USPS to get some to them....and I wonder if the USPS could take this and run with it a giving back to America program.....how many veterans work at the post offices.........lots....
