So I had my wife use them last year on her mule deer hunt. She is running a Tikka 243 1/10 twist with the 20 or 21 inch barrel. I did not have a lot of time, and powder like 4350 was hard to come by. I loaded them up with H4831, berger load manual susgested length, and they shot about .3 to .4 MOA. I could cover 5 shots with a dime easy. She's not had a lot of experience on her gun but I was able to run her out to 800 yards hitting 6 to 8 inch rocks on the second shooting outing with them. I finally got some 4350 but I havn't developed a load yet with it. I was fooling around and loaded up 5 rounds with it and it shoot about the same as above just faster and about .6 MOA which still is not bad. Its running 100fps faster than the 4831. If I remember the 4831 was like 2850fps. Slow for a 243. Anyways now for the good stuff. She took her first mule deer last year about 275yrds away with the 4831 load. Shot it right behind the mid shoulder and was stuck in the off side shoulder about 1 inch into the meat from the hide. Lungs were jello. Buck made one jump and dropped about 10 feet from where he was standing. So the little 87grain bullet will do the job on deer. Now she has the largest buck in the family.
