Windplex or Impact 29

Looking at Leupold VX-5HD 3-15x44mm CDS-ZL2
I am interested in load development, hunting, and shooting paper. I will be dialing for distance. Which reticule would you recommend. The Impact 29 seems a little busy for hunting.

I'd peer in a Wind Plex before I purchased it. I have one and think that because of the thickness of the reticle/hash marks, the picture is over busy with much of the useful part of the scope being obscured.

I love the impact reticles for hunting. It's the most useful reticle Leupold offers.

Love the windplex on my primary hunting rig. I dial for distance and use reticle for wind adjustments.

Impact is my favourite reticle. Once U become proficient with it you will hold instead of dial for moderate ranges

I spoke with a Leupold rep on both. He recommended the windplex duplex with a custom CDS to dial in the distance. I just placed an order for Leupold VX5 3-15x44 with winplex yesterday.

There's a seller on ebay with these scopes for $809, shipped, no tax. Just saying. Got mine today, looks legit, corresponding with Leupold to verify.....

Have an impact 29 and windplex. Prefer the impact 29 by quite a bit. At first I didn't think I'd like it because it's pretty busy but after running it for a month or so I got used to it

Leupold is suppose to be coming out with different reticles for the VX-5HD this summer. At this time they will not disclose which ones.

Not something you can do overnight, but if you prepare by loading up on the gift cards, it is relatively easy to execute when the promotions line up.
