just looking into getting a scope with the zero reset on it hunted and shot for years but have never used one of these type were you line it in then can reset it and then use side knob for yardage any help would be very thankful for .

Well, I just bought two Bushnell scopes. I looked everywhere for the Zero reset, but could not find any that were reasonably priced with 6 inch eye relief.
I think there are two for sale on this site.

Are you talking about "zero reset" or "zero stop"?

The knob on the side is to adjust parallax error.

What kind of money are you looking to spend?

The only "zero stop" I know of is on Nightforce scopes. A zero reset isn't the same. Most quality scopes, like Leupold, have set screws on the elevation knob that allows one to turn the dial to a "0" position, but that's only a reference point. You can still turn up or down and need to have a way to get back to the zero you set. NF zero stop is set and once you set it, you can only go up from it. I usually set mine at 100 yards with one inch of down available for changes in altitudes.
Swarovski scopes do make a re-setable turret that can be set for several yardages and will be repeatable. Both NF and Swarovski are both high end scopes.

The leupold vx5hd has a zero stop on the top turret you cannot go below 0.

Lol, maybe five years ago. Theres tons of scopes with zero stop turrets in the market now. Leupold and Burris just to name two

"How do I get a NF zero stop? Not on their website"

The Nightforce NXS, ATACR, and Beast models all have zero stop
