Bore scope pics...is this normal?

MPA has a habit of changing the order and not telling the customer. You ordered a 9 twist , the least they could have done was inform you they didn't make a 9 twist. Rediculous.

I ordered a rifle built on a Kelbly Atlas and when it showed up it was on a Curtis Custom Axiom. Acted like I was unreasonable for being upset. To boot it didn't shoot worth a ****. Left 2 messages, no call back. Accuracy guarantee doesn't mean squat if they won't follow through with it.

Yikes! I hope you'll have it resolved soon. Good luck!

Believe me, I figured you out!
I'm sure you think that, but it doesn't mean it's true.

GEEZ! What argument? You seem to be the only one doing that, everybody else esp. the OP is ready to move on.
You seem to be one of the ones who keep taking issue with what I said (or didn't really say).
I'm not sure why you would try to pretend otherwise.

If my posts bother you that much, feel free to ignore them, but don't quote me and then try to blame me for "arguing" when I reply.

The truth is you've argued with everyone who didn't agree with you from the beginning.

Guys, this thread has degraded.
Please move along unless you have something relevant and productive to add.

I totally agree as noted in #52.

Also, to geargrinder, I've followed your posts and contributions to this forum since I joined with the utmost respect (#43).

To the OP, my sincere apologies to you if I have stirred your post in the wrong direction or have caused you any grief.

Hope you get your barrel situation resolved without any additional time and cost.

Cheers!

So, I FINALLY heard from MPA today about the barrel. Here is their response...
"Here is what we found in the barrel with our bore cam. The barrel was cleaned with a bronze brush, Hoppes, and cotton patches. We did not find anything unusual after a thorough inspection. I have attached pictures."

Then they attached about a dozen blurry bore scope pics. What a giant waste of my time! Thanks a lot Masterpiece Arms.

Here are some of their bore scope pics. Look at the quality compared to the pics I got (post #1) with my $180 scope.

I haven't shared my experience with MPA on any forums. I guess I should because now I've heard the same poor customer experience quite a few times.

I placed my order in May 2017 from MPA. Comp chassis, Kelbly Action, 6x47, 8 twist M24 contour, Jewell trigger. Easy peasy. Sent a couple emails in July to see if I could change to a 7 or 7.5 twist. No response, finally had to call 3 times to find out that they do not make a twist faster than 8. No biggie. Email again about a week later to change from a Jewell to a trigger tech. I actually like the TT's plenty light and no creep. No response after several emails, finally I call and they let me know that it has been changed, they just didn't bother to tell me.

Rifle shows up about 3 weeks late, no issue with that, things happen. When it gets here it has a Curtis Custom Action, not a Kelbly. I call them to find out *** and they say, "let me guess, it showed up with a Curtis instead of a Kelbly." MPA then tells me that their standard package comes woth a Curtis as of July and that it's a better action. Fine, but I didn't order a "standard package," I specified a Kelbly in the build sheet and I know nothing about the Curtis. I let them know that I ordered in May and asked why they didn't at least call me to let me know of the change. MPA said we started calling our customers with builds but only about 25% of them were answering, so we didn't bother to call the rest (no kidding, actually said that). And then went on to say that "They put it out there the best they could, even did a press release." How hard would it have been to send a bulk email all their customers?

So at this point I asked what my options were. MPA told me that I could either keep it or wait another 12 to 14 weeks for another build with a Kelbly. I told him I needed to do some research and I'd get back to him. Keep in mind the rifle is still at the FFL. I go home, look around and find pretty good reviews for the Curtis Custom. So in figure I should at least consider this. Drive back to the FFL (1.5 hours away) and send MPA an email letting them know that I would do the transfer and at least take it to my gunsmith to look at and actually feel the action to see if I like it. About 30 minutes later I get an email back saying to call them before I do the transfer. Too late, it's already done.

I call to hash it out and MPA goes on to tell me that if I take the rifle, I have to keep it because it's used. Tells me they can't let me "play" with the action for as long as I like. At this point I go ballistic. I've been beyond patient and now they are accusing me of dishonesty when all I wanted to do was cycle the action and see if I even liked it. I ripped them a new one and the ultimate ridiculous statement from came out, MPA says " We've been more than patient with you letting that rifle sit there without being picked up." ***!!!! I paid for it, they have my money...how is it that they've been patient???

I finally got them to agree to let me take it for 24 hours and actually feel the action and take it to my Smith. In the mean time I called Alamo Precision and they were GREAT. Apparently they had at least some role with the development of this action. Let me know that I could deal directly with them if I had an issue with the action. This is the biggest reason I decided to keep it. I emailed MPA the next morning and let them know I would be keeping it and noted that I hope it shoots better than the customer service I received. It didn't.

Started load development last fall, put about 250 rounds down the barrel. Tried Varget and H4350, 110 SMK's and 105 Hybrids from 10 jam to 60 off, necks turned and unturned, different primers, it won't shoot anything under an inch. MPA has a 3/8th inch guarantee on their 6's. Talked numerous times with my gunsmith and we finally gave up. Ordered a new 7.5 twist Brux and a 6BRA reamer, just waiting for it to be spun up now.

Of course, I've thought about sending the barrel back to them, but I have zero faith that they will do anything about it. I'd just end up eating the shipping cost on it. On the plus side, I really like the chassis and LOVE the action. It just won't shoot worth a ****. I'm sure it will after I get the new barrel on it.

They're a real piece of work. Sometimes we can deal with poor costumer service when we get top notch products but ****** products with ****** costumer service? That's a real PITA. Hope you can get your rifle to shoot ok with the new barrel.
