Why is there not an aftermarket butt stock that resembles the back of a stock like manners or McMillan that if fixed and has a decent cheek piece for proper eye relief. I have looked every where and the only thing I can find is stuff like the A2 fixed stock and then a bunch of lame stuff. I don't want some tactical adjustable stock. I want something that matched a hunting stock that bolts to the back of an AR.

Having been in the same boat, the A2 buttstock is what ai have settled on. Eye relief and comb height is easily adjusted by scope mounting with the AR platform. If weight is needed for balance, it can easily be added using the accessory port. I like my AR's clean, simple, and quiet for field use. For prone/precision work, I can easily add/remove a bag rider. FWIW I went with the Luth-AR 'fixed' buttstock, but that is adjustable for comb height and length of pull, among other adjustments.

I find it far superior to the MagPul PRS stock (and 1/2 to 2/3rds the price to boot) ... and everyone who has tried my precision 24" SS barreled AR agrees ... as it is highly conducive to being setup PERFECTLY for the one behind the trigger!

Seriously ... check 'em out!

I know it looks funny. I wasn't trying to have the grip incorporated into the butt stock. But something that is strait on the bottom like A2 stock but has a raised comb like that. Hell it could even be one piece grip/butt stock. I wonder if any company would try ot make something like this?

Does that look any better?

I have wanted a raised cheek piece on my M4, but when I look at it I realize it would interfere with the charging handle.

I just bought the prs its the gen3? was on clearance for 170
i like it a lot better than the A2. the only thing i have the carbine stock on is a 300 BLK

FWIW there are 'add on' Kydex cheek risers that would work on an M4 stock.
At first I thought this was a good idea. Then I started to think about the buffer tube and spring. Don' think the Kydex would work. I have the A2 stock on my AR. Tomorrow I will check if the Kydex would work. First I gotta find the cheek rest. I know it's somewhere in my neatly organized loading room!
