Hey guys got a couple questions for those of you who have sone experience with Sierra 197 smk! I'll be loading in my 28 currently I'm shooting the 195s but I can't seem to find them so I thought I may as well try the 197 it has a nice bc and it's available! Not really looking for exact load data as it should be very similar to where I'm at now but seating depths and performance info would be greatly appreciated and if any of you have tried them on game how did they perform? Will I be pleased with them over the 195 thanks in advance!!

its tipped so the point is tipped shut. they shoot well in my rogue . I load them the same way as far as seating and load. since it is tipped I never have hunted with it

They tipped bullets drive the tip (like a wedge) back into the hollow in the jacket which initiates expansion. Small meplat hollow points often require 500 fps or more to expand consistently.

Are you thinking of plastic or poly carbonate tips , I am referring to a small meplat bullet that is crimped though a die like the 197 smk is. please forgive my questioning :)
