No 4831. No need. I don't have any pressure signs and using lapua brass and with the accuracy I get I don't see a reason to change. If you are looking for more velocity try rl26.
 
Thanks guys. I will have to verify velocity with drop data. I got mad at my old prochrono and shot it with my last shot haha. My only concern with some slower powders is the srp in lapua brass. This is the smallest cartridge/caliber ive ever reloaded for and never any srp ever before. It gets cold in alberta and when i actually get to load development i suppose i could freeze some ammo to try with the weather starting to warm up.

Remember that you can also use small rifle Magnum primers if you're worried about ignition. I shot mine with cci br4 primers down to 15 degrees and they were spot on.
 
Ill be using cci 450s first. I wish 15! Ive spent many weekends out shooting here when it was -30c (-22f for you guys)
 
Hahaha thas awesome. Ya its been cold. I found out the hard way that vortex pst's dont dial properly at that temp.

Shawnb I am over a few provinces in Manitoba. So I know cold too! Never had a problem with my 6.5x47's with CCI 450's. I do most of my shooting in winter as well. Got a PST on my 300 RUM, never had problems dialing that one in the cold.
 
Thats good to hear. Ive got a couple new scopes now. There was no clicks on the pst at that temp. Just a stiff turn!

CM Shooter, are you using a drop tube or vibrator or what brass are you using when loading 48gr of rl-26? I just loaded up some virgin ADG brass with 140 Nosler RDF and rl-26 and I am compressed at 46.3 and heavily compressed at 46.8. I did not use a drop tube or any sort of vibrator to settle the kernels, which I've heard can help, even so, that is a big difference. I'm also loaded at 2.215 BTO, .040 off the lands in my gun.

No I didn't use anything to settle the powder.
