I've had four Criterion Barrels, every one of them being better shooters than any other brand I've had. One of them was the heavy varmint contour, the other two light varmint contour. I observed that my light varmint .308 and 22-250 barrels grouped as well as my heavy varmint contour 6.5x47 barrel, so I thought for the 4th I'd try a light varmint 6.5x47 to see what's up. It has not disappointed, grouping every bit as good as the heavy varmint contour.

Here's two five shot groups shot during load development. They are consecutive charges .4gr apart. The first measured .356" and the second .346". When I overlaid the aiming points, the ten shots completely overlapped, clustering 10 shots into .4".

I'm thinking my next one might be the heavy sporter contour...

I love Criterion Barrels...

I rebarreled my savage to 6.5 cm couple years ago with a criterion varmint profile from NSS and it stacks one on top of the other....as long as I do my job ;) lol

That's great to hear! I'm looking to get one for a 6.5x284 Savage action/Chassis I'm building for LR hunting. I have a Criterion barrel on one of my 03 Sptingfields that has performed quite well.

This is an older thread but just wanted to give some feedback in my first experience replacing a Savage LRP, 260 barrel with a Criterion Match barrel in 6.5x47 acquired from Northland; along with the barrel nut, recoil lug, and action wrench. I must say that James at Northland was very helpful! Overall, the new barrel was very nicely finished...inside and out. Replacement/headspacing took about 30 minutes. I matched the headspacing to my 6.5x47L PRS rifle(Krieger med Palma). Seating depth of to lands of the Criterion was very close to the Kreiger(.005" shorter). After break-in and case forming(100 rounds), velocity, ES, and groups were just about identical using the same load/FL sizing dye, as the Krieger. Needles to say, I'm very pleased with the results, and awaiting a light Palma for my 6.5x284 LRH rifle.

Your groups always impress me. Those are awesome groups for 200 yards!

Here's a group I shot the other day and one I shot about 2 months ago. The more recent one with peterson brass and the other with ADG.

Thanks. Over 20 years ago I took up Egg Shooting at 200/300 Yards. It attribute this "fun" sport to my obsession with extreme precision of the rifle, and strict attention to shooting form that has carried over into all my shooting(hunting, PRS, etc).

Very nice. Those ELD's shoot quite well!!!
Only issue is I cant hold anywhere near that for 5 shots. I dont know if it's the bullets or me. I've got a few 130 bergers left and I'm going to test those to see if switching bullets makes a difference. If it doesnt I know it has to be me.
