So comparing:
143eldx at 2739 g1 of .604
160 tmk at 2717 g1 of .6
Neither bullet are top of class bc so I think it's a fair comparison. Basically same thing. Mv will vary rifle to rifle, but they are both real loads developed in similar guns. The cm will have a little less recoil because of bullet weight and less down range energy also.

A 147eldm has a G7 of .332
A 162 eldm has a g7 or .329
To compare similar bullets weights that should shoot at very similar velocities of what we loaded they are almost identical ballistically.

Regardless of his video(i thought the 2550fps for the 6.5 140gr a little slow), using real world data, the 7mm-08 and 6.5cm are identical for most intents and purposes.

Here we see some difference but it could be bullet selection more than anything.

Comparing 6.5cm, 6cm, and 25-06
6.5mm 123 eldm g7 .247 at 3000fps
6mm 108 eldm g7 .264 at 3000fps
257 115vld g7 .247 at 3000fps (load data shows 3100max, but I helped a buddy develop this exact load for his 25-06, and we were below 3k when we selected a load.)

10mph Wind 2.27moa
6.5 at 600 = 10.23moa drop
10mph wind 3.75moa
6mm at 400 =4.39moa drop
10mph wind 2 Moa
6mm at 600= 9.99moa drop
10mph wind 3.34 Moa
.257 at 400 = 4.59
10mph wind 2.63moa
.257 at 600 = 10.61moa
10mph wind 4.33moa

Not much difference. Really. They all kill deer just fine. I was horned up to buy a 6cm for coyote hunting until I ran the 123eldm numbers. Not worth it in my opinion to have two rigs that do the same thing practically.

.....I think I read all the post, cant get the video, they all seem to reference velocity as the determining factor.

....If more velocity is the point, these aren't even close to the front runners.

If the stated purpose is deer hunting, then there isn't enough difference in velocities to make any of these superior to another. Find a rifle you like, and go with it.

It's a great comparison. My only complaint is that he used a very low MV for the 140gr 6.5 bullet. I think 2650-2700 is more realistic, and those extra fps make a huge difference since it puts it right al 7mm-08 mv with a much higher Bc.

I get 123 sst's @2990fps out of my 18" creed, and 143 ELD-X's @2771fps out of the same rifle.

But I found out that a man only "NEEDS" 3 rifles to do it all.

Those 3 cartridges should have everything covered up.
The 100gr eldm bullets are great varmint/predator medicine.
143 eld-x is just perfect for white tail or even the 147 eld-m.
162 eld-m/x and 180 hybrid are just about perfect to kill anything from deer sized game, up to elk. You could take bigger game with it, but then you have your 338 Lapua to take over.

In the end, we end up with a pile of rifles just because we love them!!! But we don't really need them.

It's just a comparison guys, no need to get your hackles standing up. I did my own comparison a few years ago when IMR 4451 came on the scene. I was comparing loads against H4831 in my 1980'ish Classic Stainless Win M70 with 24" barrel. With the 140 Accubond leaving the barrel a little over 3100 fps and ES of 12 and SD of 7 I found my rifles favorite load and a valid reason to not ever look at another cartridge/rifle for hunting the lower 48. I'm now testing loads with the 150 Accubond LR to find a combo for very long range ... although I prefer to stalk and get within 200 yards, it's the hunt and not the shooting that I like.

I agree with Prieto9000, that the only flaw in a very fair comparison is the use of 140gr bullets at 2560 for the 6.5 Creedmoor.
The norm is more like 2700, so in fact to restate his conclusion, it's a "draw" on ballistic performance across all three bullet weights.
The real differences are:

1. Recoil - which isn't just about the sensation, it directly affects most people's ability to shoot accurately. The short action cartridges win on that.
2. Sectional density/penetration. The 6.5 is marginally better than both the larger calibres.

I have been seeing some good reviews on using H Superformance in the 6.5 CM. I will be trying some soon to see if I can get good results out of my 22". The H4350 is just too hard to find these days so I have been settling for H414 that I already had on my shelf.
