Idaho bulls

How far in were you ? Been looking for either Id,Co,or Wy hunt for next year for 3 hunters. Always heard that Idaho herd was going down because of wolves but that does not seem the case with you guys. Great job.

We were only in 2.5 miles. It was over 2000 ft elevation change, but it was not bad in my opinion. At times we get 6 to 8 miles in as well. Just depends on the weather.

I have a 7 mag just setting in the safe . I might just have to get it diled in . I'm running the 338 and 300 Rums right now.

off subject a bit, but going to Lolo this fall for first rifle, any news on wolves in that area? I'm definitely picking up a tag for the off chance we see one

Here's a couple you didn't get.....secret...no-tell ridge...but idaho....
Hard to draw tag....too many people live too close....
There were 14 bulls up there....one good bull... 1230170830_HDR.jpg

Thanks guys! We were in unit 39. There were 3 more bulls in the group. Another 5 pt and 2 spikes. 40 cows as well. I will never forget the hunt, or the pack out. The day we shot them we did not get back to camp till 1am. Snowed 5 inches on us. At one point I was scared weather was going to prevent us from getting them out before the wolves got to them. I hung my quarters as high as i could in a tree. We heard wolves, saw tracks, but never saw one in person. This is the first time we have seen evidence of wolves in this unit. The last trip out was in the dark and we could hear them howling. We guessed they were about a mile away, although it can be a little deceptive judging by sound. I hope they don't wreck it.
Great job on the hunt!

Sad to hear about the Wolves. In western Canada, where ever the wolves have moved in, they wiped out the elk and moose and then moved on leaving the area without game. Over the years they have wiped out 3 areas I used to hunt at. The best conservative practice is to shoot every wolf you see.

I sure hope your area remains populated. I have been part of a twofer but your 3 at once is a once in a lifetime experience. Cherish it!
