Has anyone tried out the 225 eld match bullets on deer sized game on up to elk/moose? Just looking for a little input . I'll be using these in my 300 ultra mag.

I have not used the 225 eld-m yet but have shot 3 deer, 1 elk and 1 bear with the 212 Eld-x from my 300 WM and a few friends have used it as well. 1 round per animal from about 125 yds to well over 700 yds.

Currently running the 180 eld-m in my 7 WSM. 1 deer and 1 elk this year both 1 shot kills. The elk was 305, the deer was 908 yds. A buddy also shot his buck with my WSM at 528 yds. Both bullets were recovered and looked great.

I have a new 6.5 WSM on the way and my plan is to start with the 147 eld-m.

Every rifle I have tried them in was easy to find an accurate load for and performed admirably.

I am also planning on using the 225 for hunting this year as well as the 180's with my 28 nosler. I shoot the 75 eld m out of my 22 Grendel they leave about a quarter size exit on coyotes and they have all dropped in their tracks.

Does anyone besides Hornady know the difference between ELD-X and ELD-M, besides obviously better BC.
Jacket thickness, interlock core, and a void behind the tip to facilitate expansion. There is a 6 page thread on the ELD-M performance on game for more information. Pick is from Sam from panhandle precision.
