If you want to send a few of the .270 supporter members into catatonic shock, then go for it. Me personally, I've never seen the point to a .277 when you have .264 and .284 on both sides of it...So I say go for it!

BTW, I love my custom .25-06 AI 40º. Shoots the Berger 115 VLD's around 3,400 FPS MV. ****-near a .257 Weatherby, but with cheap brass, almost no recoil, less muzzle blast, and more efficient case design (less powder), and better barrel life. You should give one a try in a 26" heavy barrel, on that Jack O. model receiver.

Quitexperimenting and just except the cartridges and rifles big companies pump out. Accept the factory loads and be happy with them.

Guys like you've cause experimenting and improvements. We have the wheel and a lever has invented. No need for for any more advancements in technology. Next thing you know the horse and buggy will be in danger of being replaced by some new fangled contraptions.

I was fortunate enough to take an antelope at 375 yards with that load. Not long range, but the 110 Accubond took the whole top of the heart out and he only took a couple steps at most. Have taken three blacktails with it too. Two at about 100 yards and another at 40. That bullet just works well in those ranges.

Retumbo and 110 AB works great in my 25.06. Its a deer hammer.

Have two 25-06's. Both 22" barrels. One is from the first year's production of the caliber by Rem ('69). That rifle has just over 3000 rounds down the pipe and I'm chasing the lands. The other has just under 2000 rounds and same story there. Both I'm using IMR7977 58 gr on the first one and 58.5 on the second.

My 25-06 has always done nicely with 52gr of IMR 4831 pushing the 110 AB. I just yesterday tested the 110 AB using 59gr of Rel 26. Wow, my rifle shot like a competition piece. Before long I'll set up the chrono to clock speed and I'm thinking that load should be really moving and faster than IMR 4831. I have tested REL 26 in my 280 with a 140 AB and the chrono showed that standard 280 was approaching 280AI territory.

I 've been using Barnes 100TTSX, over, either, 4831 ssc, or RL22.
They hit like lightening, and drops them like they were hit with Thors, hammer. You have to find your sweet spot, for seating depth, its probably further in then what you may think. Crimping is a must. They just work better.
Also, Barnes factory ammo, in that bullet weight, is awesone. I'm not much on factory ammo, but two years sgo, I couldn't get near my bench, too much work. I bought a box of their ammo,very accurate, everything DRT.
Love the Barnes bullets. Never tracked anything I've shot with them, any caliber.

I have loads with H1000, RE22 & RE25 and the 110gr Accubond.
H1000 is 54gr, RE25 is 55gr & RE25 is 57.5gr.
RE25 is the most accurate followed closely by RE22.

So far I've owned three 25/06 rifles. All three done real good with IMR 4831 and the 117 gr Sierra. I've tried many different powders, but always seem to find IMR 4831 gives a good balance between velocity and accuracy. JMO
