Longest coyote kill. Gun and what state u live in.

1130yds according to my 2200mr with my 300wm. Shooting the 225 ELD-M at 2865fps. Was actually my farthest kill of any animal to date period, and also my first ever all black yote. I live in southern Alabama and there aren't many places at all where long range shots can be made in the first place especially on animals given how much forest there is. The shot was made on a power line trail in Defuniak Springs Florida on my uncle in-laws 1500 acre hunting camp. I plan on trying to stretch it out to 2000 plus on the same power line trail later this spring if I can get away from work long enough. I'll upload some photos of it tomorrow when I get a chance, she wasn't pretty and had recently thrown her coat for the summer and was covered in ticks.

Never mind, I found them. And no, she didn't go anywhere lol.

Thanks! Yeah she was ugly as sin, probably would have been worth taking to the taxidermist if it had been in the middle of winter when her coat was still super thick and full.

In N.W. Ohio it's so flat and residential, it's difficult to get a shot past 300 yards. My longest was 190 yards with a Savage VF11 in .243, 75gr. Hornady V-Max @ 3300 fps.

I'm hoping to improve that distance with my new Savage Axis XP in .22-250 with 55gr. V-Max @ 3500 fps.

17 Remington, 30gr bergers at 330 yards. Calling timber dogs in NW Montana, your shots are generally quite close.

@ bowhunter57 Man I bet that sucker looked like a bomb went off inside it lol, did you open it up to see how the bullets performed?

I skinned him out but didn't go any deeper. My experience with the 17 rem showed it was more effective than a 223. Thats my experiences only, your mileage may vary.

Sitting in a farm field driveway and the coyote was curled up sleeping in the sun on a snow drift at the half mile fence. Clocked him with a 162 grain Amax out of a 7mm Rem mag. I shot him across the hood of my truck resting on a rolled up gun case.
Now you guys that shoot beyond a thousand yards pay your dues to get that good. As for me I am more hunter than shooter and had never killed anything beyond 400 yards until then. It was just a very, very unlucky day for that coyote.
