Anyone here shoot the 303 calibers?

I was able to determine the twist rate last evening. It wound up being 1:11 which explains why the longer bullets won't shoot with poo. Looks like if I want to shoot the boat tails I will need to rebarrel with a tighter twist. I am seriously considering doing a .308 barrel with the same chamber. That would make it a 7.62 x 53, that would be pretty equal to the 308 Win. This rifle will have to wait as my wife's rifle is in need of a new pipe and that gets priority..:p
Thanks for all the great suggestions and comments.
Take care and God Bless

Sounds like a good plan. Brownells might sell a replacement barrel that'll fit your rifle and not break the bank. They sell factory mauser barrels for the M98 variants that are superb for the $85 price tag. I put one on a VZ-24 chambered in 30-06 and it shoots MOA or better with 168 grain SMK or Barnes ttsx. It's not a long range rifle but it sure is capable out to 950 yards. I believe they sell the same barrels for small ring Mausers too. Buying one in 308 and rechambering it wouldn't be all that much. They are 1:10 twist
