i just got a nightforce shv 5-20x56 for a Remington sendero sfii 300 wm. I have the nightforce heavy duty 20 moa rail. I want to get the heavy duty steel nf rings but I don't know if I need the mediums or if the lows will work with the rail and that scope. Anyone have any experience with this set up?

If the lows are the .885" rings, you should clear ok.
I'm running the Burris XTR's on my rifle with an SHV. Mine are a "medium" height I believe, and at around .85", 0moa rail and I have plenty of clearance. Sounds like you will be good with the Nightforce "lows" as mudrunner said.
Where about do you get that measurement on your rings from, if you don't mind ? I just did some measuring and math on the current scope I have mounted, versus the OD from NF on objective, and it's gonna touch my barrel. I don't like really tall rings( shorter neck, I guess), but it obviously has to be tall enough. Just need to know where to start measuring what I got in order to get the right rings on there way. Thanks

To tell you the truth I never did. I've had 2 sets of the XTR's on there on 2 different scopes. After the tall set I knew the mediums would work. I also went into Cabela's and had them put them on a scope and on a rifle (just setting loose).

Different companies use different methods...
1) Some/most companies measure the base of the ring's trough (the very bottom of the curve), to the top (highest point) of where the ring itself sits on the base.
2) Some measure from the direct center of the tube in the rings, to the top of where it sits on the base.
TPS is one of the companies that uses the 1st type of measurement.
Seekins, Nightforce, and many others all use the 2nd type of measurement.
Also, don't forget about the added height of the picatinny rail over the height of your receiver.
For example, I'm confident these rings will fit, because I use .927" height (type 2 measurement) 30mm rings on a Sendero with a 20MOA EGW base, with a 56mm Zeiss scope, and everything fit with plenty of clearance. You should have no issues with .885" high rings, as they're only .042" (1.0668 millimeters) difference in height.

Sometimes measurement is included with the package. On my XTR, it was on the back of the package.
