Idaho bulls

We had a great year in Idaho! We shot all 3 of these bulls at once, 271 yards away. I shot mine through both front shoulders and found the 160gr accubond between the shoulder and hide. My buddies bulls took a couple of shots. Eitherway, we had 3 dead elk, 2000 ft of elevation change and 2.5 miles to hike for all 15 loads getting them out. They are not huge, but we will take them

Great job 3 at once sounds like a lot of work all at once.

WOW all at the same time What a lifetime memory for sure. That is a "lot" of packing!

Thanks guys! We were in unit 39. There were 3 more bulls in the group. Another 5 pt and 2 spikes. 40 cows as well. I will never forget the hunt, or the pack out. The day we shot them we did not get back to camp till 1am. Snowed 5 inches on us. At one point I was scared weather was going to prevent us from getting them out before the wolves got to them. I hung my quarters as high as i could in a tree. We heard wolves, saw tracks, but never saw one in person. This is the first time we have seen evidence of wolves in this unit. The last trip out was in the dark and we could hear them howling. We guessed they were about a mile away, although it can be a little deceptive judging by sound. I hope they don't wreck it.

What rifle and scope what was the bullet performance very great hunt.

Funny thing, my go to rifle is at the gun smith's getting a new barrel on it. I like light rifles given the terrain we hunt in and I happen to find a 7mm rem mag tikka t3 lite ss on sale at gander mountain when they were going out of business. I topped it with a leupold vx3 30mm tube 4.5-14x40 cds. First 40mm scope i have ever bought and it worked great. The gun has proven to be scary accurate. 62 gr rl 22 CCI 250 primer. The 160 gr accubond worked awesome. I will try and get a weight on the bullet later this week. It is at a buddies house.
